(IN)FINITE MODELS OF SHORT STORIES (2024)

This collection contains about 80 short stories arranged into several sections: beginners’ stories, irritating, delicate, petty, traveling, spacy, functional, dangerous, shelter stories, happy, sad, stories with a happy beginning, and a sad ending and miniature stories to fill pages with. This categorization already indicates the creativity and inventiveness, originality and playfulness of this author. Namely, this book showcases thirteen models of short stories (one for each section), thirteen ways of writing short stories, that is, short stories about short stories. The wealth of analogies and associations with mundane, everyday situations and objects is arguably one of the most fascinating aspects of these stories.

THE ELLETRIFEN (2023)

“The Elletrifen” is an illustrated collection of eight stories, each given words mispronounced by toddlers as titles. These words work as a kind of magic formulas, but in the opposite direction. Usually, it is the child who is baffled by the mysterious and incomprehensible words, but in “The Elletrifen”, this privilege is granted to the adults. With a minimalistic approach, using short strokes within tight space, Sanja creates a specific atmosphere and fully developed characters. The writer narrates with a great empathy and understanding for the deeds and actions of children, oftentimes understandable only to them.
