Osmanli’s poetics is best described as diverse: lyrical fiction, satirical grotesque, eruditive humor and critical fantasy.   

Biography

Tomislav Osmanli (b. 1956) is a play and screenplay writer, a media theoretic, prose writer, film and theatre critic and essayist. Lives and works in Skopje, Macedonia.

He is an author of over 30 books: novels, short stories, theater plays, children’s literature, media theory, books of essays – winner of over 20 national artistic prizes for his diverse author’s work. Two international awards: First prize for a poem achieved in Cannicati, Italy, and “The Donat Prize”, the highest award of the city of Zadar`s Croat Writers Association bestowed for lifelong writer`s achievements. Author of five novels, five short stories books, two books of two books on film and comics theory, two books of urban and political essays, a study on Civic space and values, two books for children, a book with a thousand verses poem, etc. His plays and literary works are being published in English, Polish, Croatian, Slovenian, Serbian, French, Ladino, Bulgarian, Montenegrin, Romanian, and Greek languages. He has won the highest solemn state Awards St. Clement of Ohrid and October 11th.

Outstanding title:

A diachronical novel of nine narrative streams and complex gallery of international characters, covering twenty centuries (from the 1st to the 21st century AD) of the uceased worldwide warfare.
