Biography

Bistra Georgieva is a sociologist, writer, and cultural manager. As a children’s author, Georgieva gained international recognition with A Giant Fantasy Shop, created in collaboration with renowned Spanish illustrator Mónica Carretero and published in Spain, Latin America, and the USA. She is also the author of the Stella & Sunny series and Hotel Popitop, the first Macedonian picture book co-written with 34 children. Her books have received several national awards from the Macedonian Publishers Association, including Best Children’s Book in 2019 and 2023, and prizes for creativity and innovation in children’s literature.

Outstanding title:

This book represents children`s imagination, completely different from that of the adults: boundless, illogical, playful, funny and fully creative. The main protagonist is the Giant, who has countless fantasies, so he decides to open a fantasy shop, so that everyone can buy what he/she is lack of.
