Biography
D.A. Lori (Dolores Atanasova-Lori) was born in Germany in 1974. Her literary career commenced with the publication of her poems in “Bookbox”, followed by a collaboration with the publishing house “Blesok”, which led to the release of her first poetry collection, “Awakening in Third Person Singular”, in 2014. In 2016, her second collection, “Hand in Hand with the Wind”, was published by “Antolog”. During this period, her work also appeared in the anthology “100,000 Poets for Change” and the e-book “Poetiskon”, as well as on the online platforms “Slovocult”, an art and literature magazine, and “Fixpoetry”, a German literary website. Additionally, her poetry has been featured in the monograph “Astalni Proekcii” and in “Sovremennost”, the oldest Macedonian magazine dedicated to literature, culture, and art.
Following a three-year hiatus, Lori published her third poetry collection, “A Sky in a Cage”, in 2019. That same year, she was honored with the “Todor Chalovski” award, which facilitated the publication of her fourth collection, “Waves Are Coming”. In 2020, “A Sky in a Cage” was shortlisted for the prestigious “Miladinov Brothers” Award, recognizing it as one of the top five poetry collections presented at the Struga Poetry Evenings. Her poetry has been translated into several languages, including German, English, Serbian, Croatian, Italian, and Spanish. Her most recent work, “Now You Become Me”, was published in 2023 by the “Strange Forest” publishing house.
