Biography
Ermis Lafazanovski (1961) is a distinguished Macedonian short story writer, novelist, historian, and literary theorist, holding a PhD in Philological Sciences. His literary opus includes six novels and four short story collections (for adults), as well as numerous scholarly studies, edited volumes, and monographs. The novel Dzindzudze is his first novel for children and young adults and the winner of the 2025 “Olivera Nikolova” Award.

A modern fairy tale about a giant and a dwarf (in fact, about one very big and one very small child) in search of happiness. The story takes place in our time and in our own surroundings. Brought together by the principle of differences and opposites, the giant and the dwarf are inventive acrobats who perform bicycle acts across Skopje under their shared artistic name – Giantdwarf.
