Biography
Stojan Tarapuza (1933) was educated as a pedagogue but built his career as a journalist and editor in “Detska Radost”, “Nasha kniga,” and Macedonian Radio. Since 1966 he has been a member of the Society of Writers of Macedonia. Tarapuza is among the most prolific children’s poets in North Macedonia, with verses that generations of pupils encounter in school literature. His works have been translated into Russian, Polish, Czech, Italian, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Romanian, and more. He received many honors, including three awards from Radio Television Skopje, the Jovan Jovanović Zmaj Award in 1982, and the 13 November Award from the City of Skopje in 2014.
