Biography

Vancho Polazareski is a children’s writer and humorist. He was born in 1951 in Gostivar. He worked as a journalist and editor at “Radio Bitola,” “Mlad Borec,” “Osten,” and “Detska Radost”. He writes for both children and adults. He has collaborated with several newspapers and magazines. His works have been translated into Turkish, Albanian, Estonian, and the languages of the former Yugoslav republics. He is included in the school reading lists and is represented with his poems, stories, and plays in textbooks and other required reading editions. He has been a member of the Writers’ Association since 1990. He has received the MRTV Award for the best book between two Struga Poetry Evenings, as well as several awards for radio sketches, cartoons, and humorous pieces.
